Longing is an original 30"x40" oil painting created by Adrianne on sealed birch wood panel, with a hanging wire installed for immediate hanging.
Longing was originally painted as part of the Human Nature collection, and is an exploration of our experience of longing as part of the experiential human wilderness of humanity. It's about the fire burning in one's heart and soul: the longing for life, the longing for love, and the longing for more.
Adrianne says: "Part of the reason I included it in my Human Nature Collection - and cast myself as the model - was because I know that if I had not listened so deeply to my longings, I never would have broken free from everybody else's expectations of me and lived a life that was truly my own".
This piece was created as an affirmation of the fire within that keeps us hungering for what's meant for us.
