Adrianne painted Hope as one of ten pieces in a series of paintings called The Human Nature Collection. The Human Nature Collection explores parts of what Adrianne calls “the experiential human wilderness”: parts of our inner experience that we go through as we move through life’s landscape.
Hope is a painting about the polarity between disillusionment and desire. It is about how hope persists in spite of the many times we have it dashed in our lives, and how that hope gives our hearts something to hold on to even in the darkest of times.
Adrianne says: "I decided to paint this piece about Hope as part of the Human Nature collection because I felt that Hope is something that is easily dashed by out disappointments, deaths, and disillusionment in life. But at the same time, it's the thing that is most deeply tied to our soul's desires. Hope keeps us moving towards our visions. And for that reason, I felt that it was important to paint a vision to honor it."
