Original Oil Painting
One-of-a-kind original oil painting by Adrianne Tamar Arachne.
Dying is an original 24"x36" oil painting created by Adrianne on sealed birch wood panel, with a hanging wire installed for immediate display.
Dying was originally painted as part of the Human Nature Collection, and is an exploration of what it means to live well while leaving things behind as a part of the experiential wilderness of being human. It is a painting about walking through life and leaving your impact, energy, and experiences along the path as you make your way towards the end.
Adrianne says: "Dying well is actually the act of living well. We all enter this life understanding that, at some point, it will come to its natural end. When I painted this piece, I was thinking about our impact on life, and life's impact on us. I was thinking about how many bones, from how many different lives, are buried in the earth over millennia, and how - little by little - we are adding our own bones to that collection."
