Spirit portraits often feature animals as symbolic representations of qualities in people’s inner worlds. Polar bears, crystals, and feathers emerged when Adrianne began to envision a particular client’s spirit portrait, which was how the “King Of The Crystal Forest” was born. This piece was painted to evoke serenity, power, and wonder - and a combination of the client’s power symbols in a story of regal majesty.
But as is often the case with spirit portraits, this unique combination of symbols seemed to have a broader appeal than one would expect, and was relatable to the inner worlds of many. It has become one of the most popular pieces Adrianne has painted.
Adrianne hopes this piece reminds people of the things in our world that require delicate balance to survive, even things that seem very powerful. We must live in harmony with equilibriums of life, light, and power in order to care for the entirety of the planet we call home.
