”Power”
Wouldn’t it be great 

If we could shine whole 

Never damaged 

By everything that will inevitably 

Crack us open? 

I suppose so.

But, it’s also been my experience 

That power, once shining 

Will only ever reveal the cracks 

In the one shining it. 

Are your cracks honest and real?

 To your vulnerable core? 

Connecting your light more thoroughly 

To the web of life you find yourself part of?

Or, 

Do your cracks only allow 

For your light to shine for yourself

Using power 

Abusing power 

For power’s sake?

Either is possible.

But rest assured.

Your power is yours.

And.. all of it’s possibilities 

Shining from everything 

That ever broke and shaped you 

Are part of the web of everything.
Maybe 

It’s good

Then 

To 

Pick it up

With gentleness,

So as not to break
